Training and Leadership
Engaged and educated members make our union strong, adaptable and respected.  Our local makes investments in our members' training and leadership development.  With Executive Board approval and proper receipts, we reimburse lost time from work, cost-conscious travel and lodging, and, of course, pay for course materials and registration costs.  Build your professional and organizational skills and make your union a better organization in the process.

An educated and engaged workforce makes our union strong and effective.  AFSCME Local 3336 is offering a series of four lunch-time seminars this spring on topics relevant to our members' career fulfillment, safe working conditions, and family life needs.

The Labor Education and Research Center at the University of Oregon has opened a new Leadership Academy where emerging union leaders learn in a cohort of 25 other union members over several weeks.  Cohort members complete a leadership project in their local.  Applications for 2018 are being accepted through Jan. 15, 2018.  Apply and learn more here:  https://lerc.uoregon.edu/leadership-academy/
